about artist

Valerie Savchits (b. 1993, Riga, Latvia) currently lives and works in Brighton, UK. She holds an MFA in Fine Art from the University of Brighton (2022). Her work has been shown in group exhibitions across the UK and internationally, with notable exhibitions including Field of Vision, Zuzeum Art Centre, Riga (2023); Antisocial Isolation (2020) and Synthesis (2022), Saatchi Gallery x Delphian Gallery, London; Winter Show, Harlesden High Street, London (2019). She is one of the winners of Delphian Open Call (2019) and a recipient of Student Experience Fund from the University of Brighton (2021).

Her practice navigates a space between playfulness, irony and a subtle melancholy. Through this lens Savchits explores the fragile nature of connection and the unspoken rules that shape human relationships: boundaries, silence, the things left unsaid.
